AccuTemp’s Entire Product Line is ENERGY STAR Qualified

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 16, 2009) – AccuTemp Products, Inc. has announced that its entire standard product line of steamers and griddles is now ENERGY STAR® qualified, with the May 8, 2009 addition of commercial griddles to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) conservation program. AccuTemp’s unique steam-heated Accu-Steam Griddles  all exceed the cooking and idle energy efficiency rates required for ENERGY STAR qualification and labeling.

“Our introduction of energy and water saving steamer and griddle technology predates the ENERGY STAR Program’s expansion into commercial cooking equipment. But we were quick to embrace and support their efforts to educate and conserve scarce natural resources,” according to Scott Swogger, AccuTemp’s President & CEO. “With their addition of griddles, the entire AccuTemp Product line is now ENERGY STAR qualified, which is probably a first for a multi-product foodservice equipment company. Our on-going support of the ENERGY STAR Program is part of AccuTemp’s ECOLOGIX™ initiative to: RETHINK-RECYCLE-RENEW!”

AccuTemp was an early ENERGY STAR Partner in the steam cooker category with Steam’N’Hold, the first connectionless, boilerless steamer designed to radically reduce both water and energy use, while eliminating the need for water treatment and descaling with harmful caustic chemicals. Today a total of 13 Steam’N’Hold models are ENERGY STAR  qualified, including three- and six-pan models available with 6-, 8- 10-, 12-, 14- or 17-kW power input.

AccuTemp’s new Evolution  Line of boilerless connected steamers is also ENERGY STAR qualified, while providing operators the convenience of a no-fill connected steamer. Evolution has a patent-pending steam distribution system that directs steam above and below each pan, for faster cooking and more even pan-to-pan consistency. Building on the boilerless steam system proven in Steam’N’Hold, Evolution’s Steam Vector Technology reduces cook times without the use of troublesome fans, blowers or moving parts.

Evolution is designed to do-more-with-less, using only 4- to 8-gallons of water per day, compared to the ten gallons per hour used by competitive models. Evolution can reduce monthly water and sewer bills, plus the energy needed to heat that water. Evolution’s Steam Vector Technology is so simple and dependable, no water treatment system or periodic deliming with caustic chemicals is required. It is also the only boilerless steamer without a water quality exclusion in its warranty.

More on the ENERGY STAR Qualified Accu-Steam Griddle…

The Accu-steam Griddle cooks with steam heat, delivers uniform surface temperatures at ± 3° F of set temperature and recovery times of 10 seconds or less. Near perfect uniform heating means no wasted griddle surface, higher production capacity per foot of griddle and more consistent product, even with inexperienced griddle cooks.

The Accu-steam Griddle is ideal for any operator that wants to improve product quality and consistency; increase production without increasing hood space; reduce their equipment package; or improve operating efficiency, with less skilled labor. More production in less space can also reduce ventilation hood requirements and related energy and HVAC operating costs.

Accu-steam gas and electric powered, steam-heated griddles are available in 24-, 36- and 48-inch wide tabletop models with 4” high legs or stand mounted, with or without casters.
